Psychiatrist and Medical Director of Abaris Behavioral Health

Dr. Lyons is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who has been with our practice since 1999. She did her psychiatric training at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. She has extensive experience in the evaluation and pharmacologic treatment of a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. She serves adults (18 and over) for diagnostic evaluations, medication assessments and provides treatment with psychopharmacologic medication. She works well with clinical counselors and therapists, and believes that a combination of psychotherapy and medication provide best practice treatment for many clients. She also provides ongoing care, after recovery, with maintenance treatment and prevention of recurrences.

In addition to her work at Abaris Behavioral Health, Dr. Lyons is the Medical Director of Rose Hill Center. Rose Hill is a residential psychiatric rehabilitation program in Holly, Michigan that specializes in the treatment of schizophrenia and severe mood disorders.

Dr. McMahon is Board Certified in Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed medical school at Wayne State University, and completed psychiatry residency training at Wayne State University and Henry Ford Medical Center and a child fellowship at University of Michigan. She serves children, adolescents, and adults for diagnostic evaluations, medication assessments and provides treatment with psychopharmacologic medication. She also has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, postpartum depression, and woman’s issues. She works well with psychologists and clinical therapists, and believes that a combination of psychotherapy and medication provide best practice treatment for many clients.

Dr. McMahon is an established experted and has appeared on 20/20, Channel 7, WJR Radio, and local cable programs.

Dr. Martinez-Lyons is an Adult Psychiatrist . She completed her residency in psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical College in Bronx, New York. She completed a clinical research fellowship in anxiety, affective disorders and Alzheimer’s disease at Lafayette clinic, Wayne State University School of Medicine. She provides diagnostic evaluations and treatment of a variety of problems including:

• Anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorders
• Schizophrenia
• Substance abuse
• Stress-related medical conditions
• Attention-deficit disorders
• Dementia

Family, Addiction, and Preventative Medicine

Dr. Murthy was originally a Resident in Family Medicine at Louisiana State University(LSU) in Lafayette, LA. He completed 24 months at LSU and did a 3rd year residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky in the department of Occupational/Preventive Medicine. Prior to joining residency, he completed a Master’s in Public Health & Tropical Medicine/Infectious Diseases’ at Tulane University’s School of Public Health in New Orleans, LA. He had prior work experience working in India for a public health organization for 2 years. He has completed the hours for the American Board of Addiction Medicine exam as a fellow at Brighton Hospital/St.John Health System in Brighton, MI which I will be taking in the fall of 2010.

Dr. Murthy’s areas of specialization include Family Medicine/Primary Care, Addiction Medicine/Dual Diagnosis and Occupational Medicine/Preventive Medicine. His interests include addiction medicine/dual diagnosis, primary care medicine & preventive medicine.
